Overview
Gamifying connection through predictive AI simulations
SuperIntro is a social platform that uses AI agents to "simulate" relationships before they really meet in person. Instead of static swiping, users watch their digital avatars interact in various scenarios from professional brainstorming to casual social relationships to "test" chemistry
Led and collaborated with designers to create the simulation interface in Figma and built the production frontend using Next.js

Building the engine for real-time interaction
Built the production frontend using React and Next.js, bridging the gap between complex data and smooth UI, involving engineering a custom state management system to handle the streaming text of AI simulations, and integrating the map API to render real-time, clustered user locations with high performance on mobile devices.

How technical constraints drive better design

Velocity through Hybridity
In a fast-paced startup, the "handoff" between design and engineering is often where momentum dies. Acting as a hybrid UX Engineer eliminated this friction, allowing me to validate and ship complex AI features in days rather than weeks.

Designing for Entropy
Working with Generative AI taught me that you cannot design for static "happy paths." I learned to build resilient UI patterns capable of handling unpredictable text lengths, variable latency, and hallucinated content without breaking the user experience.

Gamification as a Gateway
I discovered that users are more willing to engage with new technology if it feels like play. Framing the daunting task of "networking" as "watching AI simulations" lowered user anxiety and effectively solved the cold-start problem.
My first time in a fast-paced startup environment definitely came with its challenges, but strong support from the founders and my teammates made this such an enriching experience for my professional growth

Designed a "Script-Style" interface that frames AI conversations as entertainment, using typography to make streaming text feel like a story.

Designed an immersive map interface where users explore nearby people via pins, focusing on intuitive clustering and seamless transitions from map pins to profile modals.
